We have been favoured by Assistant Surgeon C. E. Smith, jr.u., of the 11th Hussars, with papers describing an interesting experiment regarding the efficacy of these springs in the treatment of rheumatism. As the papers have appeared in cxtenso in the Pioneer, we do not reproduce them. A number of men ?European and native soldiers?who had been attacked with rheumatism consequent on the exposure and fatigue of the Delhi camp, were, under the orders of His Excellency the Commanderin-Chief, sent to Sonah under Dr. Smith's medical charge. They all appear to have derived much benefit from the daily use of these baths, and several cases are detailed which evidence a most marked improvement under the use, external and internal, of the water. These baths are in high repute among the people
